Non-fiction editing and proofreading for technology, marketing and business writers
Developmental Editing
An in-depth edit of your early manuscript
After the developmental editing process your manuscript may look very different, but you can rest assured it will be much closer to the book you set out to publish.
Copy Editing
A detailed edit improving language
After the copy editing stage your manuscript will have been through many rounds of editing and revisions, so it will be looking very polished.
Proofreading
The final pre-publication check
After your book has been proofread your final publication will look professional, credible and authoritative.
“The positive reviews the book has received so far are testament to the quality of Jo’s work, attention to detail and her excellent command of the language.”

Every day I am fortunate enough to learn so much, sometimes about topics that are brand new to me, by editing a broad range of content including: books about technology, marketing and startups; medical and engineering articles; travel blogs and more. I am an experienced development editor, qualified copy editor and have a broad transferable skill set from a background in marketing, product development and publishing.
Many of my clients are self-publishing authors and I am always more-than-happy to help with any queries or concerns about editing or the publishing process. I understand that sharing your manuscript with an editor is a daunting step in the process of becoming an author so, working with you, I follow a transparent editing process, send regular concise updates, get to really know your voice and style, and always deliver to the timelines.
I also edit manuscripts for a number of publishing houses and business clients.
“Hiring Jo was one of the best decisions in my life, and it amazed me the quality of the work she performed. It was an amazing experience working with Jo in my first book in every aspect. She communicates effectively, on time, and did the work above all my expectations. Jo contributed significantly to my knowledge of writing and the process behind publishing. Jo is an inspiring perfectionist, which made me rethink my writing skills and perform better in future writing. I highly recommend Jo to any author and will cooperate with her in the future.”

Work with me and publish with confidence
Here are some of the books I’ve had the pleasure of developmental editing or copy editing for indie authors and Packt Publishing.
